Dr. Desiree A. Díaz

PhD, FNP-BC, CNE, CHSE-A, ANEF, FSSH, FAAN
Dr. Díaz is an Endowed Enfermería Faculty Scholar, Undergraduate Simulation Coordinator, and Professor at the University of Central Florida.
She completed a Post Doc from Johns Hopkins with Dr. Pamela Jeffries, focusing on simulation pedagogy.

Dr. Díaz is known for her work on cutting-edge technologies like holograms within the simulation community, holding one U.S. patent with two others pending.

Her research on simulation pedagogy has advanced health equity and raised awareness of healthcare disparities. A National Coalition Ethnic Minority Nurse Scholar and Health Leadership Fellow, she is the Immediate Past President of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation. Her research, including a 2023 influential article, examines healthcare disparities and the nurse’s role in promoting healthcare equity.
