Module: Morse Fall Scale


In this module, you will gain an understanding of the various aspects of applying the Morse Fall Scale (MFS) including:

  • Indications of use of MFS
  • Components of the scale
  • Steps for using the scale
  • After care
  • Common clinical errors related to the Morse fall risk assessment procedure

This module covers the six key components of the MFS – history of falls, secondary diagnosis, ambulatory aid, IV/heparin lock, gait/transferring ability, and mental status – along with proper scoring and interpretation. This module provides structured training on accurately using the Morse Fall Scale to identify high-risk patients and take appropriate interventions.
