Mandatory Module: Pediatric Life Support
The Pediatric Life Support theory module is an online learning component designed to equip nursing students with essential knowledge and clinical reasoning skills for managing life-threatening emergencies in infants and children. This module focuses on the timely recognition and response to pediatric cardiopulmonary emergencies. Core concepts covered include:
- Pediatric airway management and respiratory support
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for infants and children
- Recognition of shock, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest
- Use of emergency drugs and defibrillation techniques
- Team dynamics and communication during resuscitation
Students will engage with interactive e-learning content, video demonstrations, and scenario-based simulations to develop critical thinking and decision-making abilities in pediatric emergency care. The theoretical knowledge acquired in this module will form the foundation for hands-on skills training conducted in simulation labs or clinical settings, ensuring students are prepared to deliver safe, effective, and timely interventions during pediatric life support situations.
