Mandatory Module: Evidence-based Newborn Care

The Evidence-based Newborn Care theory module is an online learning component tailored to provide nursing students with essential theoretical knowledge required for delivering safe and effective care to newborns. This module emphasizes evidence-based practices and current clinical guidelines in neonatal nursing. Core topics include:

  • Neonatal assessment and Apgar scoring
  • Thermoregulation and infection prevention
  • Breastfeeding support and nutritional care
  • Management of common neonatal conditions
  • Safe medication administration in newborns

Students will engage with the content through interactive e-learning modules, real-life video demonstrations, and scenario-based learning that promotes clinical reasoning. This theoretical foundation will be reinforced through structured hands-on training at the college, preparing students to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed care in both hospital and community settings.
