Mandatory Module: Basic Cardiac Life Support
The Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) theory module is an online learning component designed to provide nursing students with essential knowledge of life-saving interventions in cardiac emergencies. This module covers fundamental concepts such as:
- Chain of survival
- Recognition of cardiac arrest
- Basic Life Support (BLS) algorithms
- High-quality CPR techniques
- Airway management, and
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Students will engage in interactive e-learning modules, video demonstrations, and case-based discussions to understand the principles of effective resuscitation. The theoretical knowledge gained in this module will prepare students for hands-on practical training at the college, ensuring they develop the skills and confidence needed to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies in real-world healthcare settings.
