Mandatory Module: Safe Delivery App
The Safe Delivery App theory module is an online learning component designed to strengthen nursing students’ knowledge and competencies in managing essential maternal and newborn care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. This module utilizes the nationally recognized Safe Delivery App to reinforce evidence-based practices in obstetric and neonatal care. Key learning areas include:
- Active Management of the Third Stage of Labor (AMTSL)
- Prevention and management of postpartum hemorrhage
- Neonatal resuscitation and essential newborn care
- Management of eclampsia and other obstetric emergencies
- Infection prevention and respectful maternity care
Students will learn through app-integrated video demonstrations, clinical decision-making scenarios, and self-assessment quizzes, promoting critical thinking and confidence in maternal health interventions. The knowledge gained through this module will be further strengthened during simulation-based and clinical training, ensuring nursing students are well-prepared to deliver safe, skilled, and timely care in real-world maternity care settings.
