Vidyanta Skills Institute conducted a one-day CNE workshop that covered the following topics: understanding initial and secondary assessment of a trauma patient, identifying and managing head and spinal trauma, managing pediatric trauma and demonstrating skills in various clinical procedures relevant in managing any trauma situation.
Hands-on practice sessions, using mid-fidelity mannequins, were conducted to practice skills on helmet removal, splint application, use of cervical collar, use of spine board, and airway management. Participants practiced under various scenarios to enhance their ability to respond effectively in trauma situations.
The target audience for the workshop were nurses and nurse leaders working in the ER and Trauma departments. Forty-two nurses from various hospitals attended the workshop.
