The most important resource of a healthcare system is its human resources for an effective and efficient functioning of a hospital. The purpose of a human resource team is to acquire, provide, retain and maintain competent people in the right numbers to meet the needs of patient’s care delivery. The standards focus on human resource planning, recruiting and orientation of new employees, training and development of employees, performance appraisal and discipline and maintenance related to the safety and health of the employees.
