First aid for the injured generally consists of a series of simple, and in some cases, potentially life-saving procedures that an individual can be trained to perform with minimal equipment. Many of these injuries happen away from home, and one wastes valuable minutes waiting for help and assistance to arrive. Knowing first aid skills in the event of accidents and injuries can help you to lessen the impact an injury has, and could potentially help you save lives.
At the end of this lesson, a student will be able to understand first aid for:
- Wounds
- Bleeding
- Bones and joints injuries
- Spinal injuries
- Burns
- Eye injuries and epistaxis
- Head trauma
- Amputation
