A healthcare facility provides uniform care to all patients in different settings such as, outpatient units, various types of in-patient units, intensive care units, procedure rooms and operation theaters. This chapter of NABH provides guidelines and standards of uniform care delivery in different settings. Also, this chapter provides standard policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations guide emergency and ambulance services, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, use of blood and blood components, care of patients in the intensive care and high dependency units. The standards aim to guide and encourage patient safety as the overall principle for providing care to patients.
