Course Description
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR, AED use and choking relief. This course uses AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows students to mimic accurate skills being performed on the DVD while instructors provide feedback and guide the students’ skill learning.

Audience
For anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to learn how to manage a choking emergency or sudden cardiac arrest in the first few minutes until professional help takes over care for the victim.

Course Format and Exam
Students may take this course in a classroom setting with an AHA instructor or in a blended-learning format. During the classroom course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their CPR and AED skills practice and testing. Students taking the blended learning version will take the cognitive portion online and then complete a Skills Practice and Skills Test at a local AHA training center that offers that service.
