Course Objectives: Upon completion of the course, a participant will be able to:
- Identify indications for an intubation in an emergency
- Perform an appropriate assessment of the airway
- Successfully mask ventilate a patient
- Select and assemble equipment required for an intubation
- Perform all the steps needed to visualize the glottis area
- Confirm the placement of an endotracheal tube through the five-point auscultation
- Identify the color changes on the CO2 detector
- Demonstrate the use of LMA’s, FTLMA, combitube, and cricothyroidotomy in difficult airway situations
