To provide timely effective assistance to disaster victims and to facilitate relief measures and rehabilitation of services. Healthcare workers have unique skills for handling all aspects of a disaster. It includes assessment, priority setting, collaboration, and addressing both preventive and acute care needs. In disaster management, nurses work with other healthcare providers to identify and plan for risks, participate in preparedness education and training, respond efficiently and effectively in a timely manner, and participate in the recovery process with other disaster management teams.
