Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients. The principle of the management of TBI is the intensive care treatment with careful attention paid to the airway, oxygenation and adequate hemodynamic support to avoid hypoxia and hypotension. A trauma nurse must have knowledge and skills for acute head injuries for the immediate assessment and stabilization of the airway and circulation.
