Transporting Critically ill Patients

The transport of intensive care patients either within a hospital, such as, to the imaging department or between hospitals for advanced treatment or due to bed shortages is critical. More critically ill patients require transport for sophisticated diagnostic studies and therapeutic interventions. The principles of transferring include a skilled staff, proper functioning vehicles, full investigation, proper stabilization, documentation, extensive monitoring and direct handover.
