The common genitourinary problems are neurogenic dysfunction, impotence, prostatism, urinary tract infections, kidney failure and prostate cancer. Disorders of the urinary tract are caused by blockage that prevents complete emptying of the bladder and often leads to reverse flow of urine. A critical care nurse must know the principles of dialysis therapy and fluid and electrolyte disturbances. In this lesson, we will learn assessment of the GU system, renal failure and dialysis therapy and fluid and electrolyte therapy.

Topics

  1. Assessment of the GU system
  2. Renal failure and dialysis therapy
  3. Fluid and electrolyte disturbances
