The prevalence and acute nature of soft tissue injuries require that an emergency nurse must understand the principles of assessment and treatment. The patterns of these injuries are highly variable because of the severity, extent, and the number of tissues involved. The healing of these injuries also is unique and varies with the severity of structural damage and contamination, as well as surgery and rehabilitative care. An emergency nurse must need to understand the tissue wound healing process, type of wound, soft-tissue repair treatment.
